It feels like the author is just trying to add as much drama into the book as they can to extend its length and make it more interesting.

Avery is said to be geeky and quite modest but so far I haven’t seen that or gotten that feel from her at all.

I liked the story but at the beginning what I didn't like was them jacking each other around. Shy blowing cold on Tabby leaving her alone to get her shit sorted, then getting pissed off when she does leave to get her head sorted. Especially when he already had a woman who also didn't need to get jacked around either.
At the beginning, I was contemplating DNF... I'm glad I didn't/did

Zsadist's story is heartbreaking.
Made me cry a few times.
