I’ve heard a lot about this book and decided now was the time to start it. Think it will be my big read for Women’s History Month.

Decided to pick this book up since I can’t listen to my audiobook. Baby needs their music to sleep lol.

Super long but interesting introduction.

Finally got my copy back from the library. Hated having to wait for my hold to come through.

Decided to try this book again after a soft DNF. So far it’s holding my attention. Made it farther than before at least. Finished “Part One.”

Read from 1766 to 1900 aka “the half told in illustrations.”

The audiobook was NOT a good choice for me to read this story. Restarted once I got a digital copy.

These chapters are pretty long so far.

Tried reading a chapter. Think I’ll need to get the audio for it to really get into it.

I love how this book talks about a freezing cold January day when that’s exactly what I’m experiencing. This is definitely the right time to read this book.

Listening to the audiobook while reading along is making such a difference for me.

I’m really enjoying this book so far. I even cried.

“Ghosts of Prides Past” (3) Glad others enjoyed it but not for me. “Floral Arrangement I.” (4) Felt powerful after reading. “The Call” (5) Loved it but consent is important! “Hideous Creatures” (1.75) Only liked last sentence. “Like Me” (3) Annoying to read but interesting concept.

“In Our Own Image” (4 stars) Wish there was more but can be okay with the fade to black ending. “Dad Movie” (1 star) Pointless!

“The Minotaur and Theseus (And Other Bullshit)” (3.75 stars) it was good but left me wanting more. “Cryptid Cruising” (3.5 stars) “Invert”(3 stars) Both too short, IMO, and could have been longer poems. “Strange Case” (4.25 stars) Really liked this story that did a reverse Uno card move. “Naga Mark Ruffalo Dream” (3.5 stars) Feels weird to rate this as it felt like an inserted self fan fiction.

“And the Moon Spun Round Like a Top” (4-4.25 stars) 😳🤯😱 pretty much explains my emotions during that story. “75” (3.5 stars) Had to read a few times due to shock from previous study. “An Invisible Man is Humping a Vampire” (4 stars) Definitely told a story even though it’s not a happy one.

With all the rainy weather, a trip to the Galápagos Islands sounds fun.
