I’m so happy the author did the audiobook narration. I’ve barely begun and I’ve hooted with laughter enough times that my cat full-on tackled me, probably to remind me that one can't eat muffins in an agitated manner. The butter would probably get on my cuffs.

Wait, what year was this published, 1992? The twin characters are named Charles and Camilla, AFTER Camillagate?

I should switch to the print version. I'm distracted from the story (told from the perspective of male teen from California, with a supporting cast of primarily other male teens) because the author (an adult woman with an undiluted Mississippi accent) is reading the audiobook.

Parts of this aged better than others.

The audiobook has a couple of false takes from the narrator with re-dos. I’m not mad about it, things happen, but it was a little confusing the first time it happened.

I’m almost hate-reading this at this point. Lots of it is very readable, but, more often, it reads like it originated on AO3

So far I’m liking this even more than the first installment! The author seems to have improved her writing style since Axiom’s End; the descriptions etc make everything much easier to mentally picture in this sequel.

Like stories I wrote with my 5th grade bff. Premise intriguing, but execution… oof.

How To Think is already shaping up to be what I had hoped for from Mental Immunity. This is a much more thoughtful take so far!

This protagonist is the worst. Morally ambiguous characters are great, but there’s no ambiguity here— she’s just the WORST, in both timelines.

The r/maliciouscompliance vibes are strong with this one.

Wil Wheaton was the perfect choice as audiobook narrator.

The narrator for the audiobook is flawless. I have been cackling out loud constantly throughout this.

If you’re a fan of the crease between Bella Swan’s eyebrows, this is the book for you.
