What I was able to read did not impress me as much as Journey to the End of the Night or Death on the Installment Plan. Even Death was less than Journey, at least for this reader.

The old Goodreads would have the books I really was currently reading right at the top upper left, so it would be easy to "update progress"; alas, those days are long gone like a hot toasty Pop-Tart in an adjunct office, and I'm now reduced to adding page-number updates within reviews. Cringe, yes, I know; even typing "cringe" is cringe as well.

The novel hits on some great topics--Alexander Berkman, Kant, Karl(a) Popper, motorcycles, Vietnam, and more. There are 372 small pages with text; it's a book you can get through.
