Still on the hunt for a stephen king book I don't like, at least a little

Not a fun read, but a good one so far. Lots of big questions, very few answers. I like that the protagonist doesn't indulge the usual extremes of hope or anger that are often shown to follow a tragedy.

Seems like a "no duh" comment but millions of Christian men were raised without this:
"If you treat women like objects [of lust], you won't find satisfaction in that. Sexuality is about vulnerability and acceptance. You can only find those things in a person you respect. Respect doesn't mean treat politely and gentlemanly. Respect means that you think of the other person as being as much a person as you are."

A riveting, unholy, otherworldly spooktacular so far. Digging it

"Demons were simple. They believed in prayer and the potency of holy water. Thus they fled from both. But men - what did men believe?"

"It was warm and plain; characteristics that I found attractive."

so good! started the audiobook yesterday and I'm halfway through

"and when you lay thinking you thought of the past inevitably, because you couldn't help it, because the present was without the meaning of either past or future, because the past was the thing you knew well, in image and idea, because in the past your future lay."

was getting worried about the story until I realized I'm only 7 hours into a 16.5 hr audiobook. Now I'm excited to see where this thing goes
