Testing for a place to leave while I want to read a book.

Dumbed down rewrite of You've Got Mail in reverse (she knows who she's corresponding with, he doesn't). No cleverness. No heat. No banter. Lots of sentences stating the obvious. (Ex. "Little did he realize she was the employee he was referring to." Yes. We know.)

Reads like an academic study that's being stretched into a book.

Could be faster paced.

Spooky and unsettling but I'm having a hard time getting through the very long chapters.

There should be 30 books and 12 movies about the Night Witches!

I'm struggling with the past and present alternating chapters because I'm a quarter of the way into the book and still have no idea what is going on because you're not caught up on either time period and don't have enough information to be rooting for these characters.

First book was great - witches and vampires in academia - this book is Outlander lite.

Harry Potter lite in college.
