What happened to review of Geoff Stone’s excellent book SEX AND THE CONSTITUTION? It has disappeared.

I noticed today that my favorable review of Geoff Stone’s SEX AND THE CONSTITUTION has been erased. Stone is a conservative scholar at the University of Chicago. Is GR now suppressing conservative speech?

Wonderful book. I have read several of the essays.

This is different than I expected. And different than I expected.

I have had a few dozen young women ask to become a GR friend recently. Am I being trolled?

In the book of Leviticus, God says to his people, “When a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.”

We are in Belfast now. The US could soon feel like Belfast. Divided camps. Fighting over different visions of how life should be - stoked by demagogues who manipulate good people to believe absurd things.

In Ireland, the morons fight over religion when they belong to the same religion.

In the US, they fight over exceptionalism when it never stopped being exceptional until the fight began.

Reading Vineland by Pynchon now. It’s pretty good.

Whoops. Can’t read this on a kindle. Kind of a rip off that kindle even sells graphic books.

Explanatory essay is excellent.

I have read one third of this book I am not going to finish it.

It begins promisingly, but is presented almost entirely through dialogue that just isn’t interesting.

I cannot find a way to read this book on my kindle. The comic book format does not work on kindle, at least not for my eyes.

There ought to be a warning about this in the Amazon book store.

Anyway, I am abandoning this book for now. It goes on my did not finish book shelf.

Oh no! This is unreadable on a kindle. Not sure what my next move should be.

I am reading the final section of this excellent book while traveling in Bosnia Herzegovina. The wars here during the 1990s were religious culture wars. The region remains rife with the need for esoteric communication.

First half: great. Second half: bonkers.

Just what I was looking for. We are in Slovenia. A lovely country. But I need recreational reading material, especially while I adjust the jet lag. Beinhart is perfect.
