Pausing this, not because i am not enjoying it but i am too engrossed with the Sun eater series and i want to read the big finale of Empire of the Vampire (Dawn)

Last night stayed up for a few more chapters, assassination attempts, hunt to kill a god, why i though i could read this alongside something else was foolish, its hard to put down.

The God Emperor had a secret diary
Reveals about the ancient God's that may need to be killed.

Already much better than the book of endless torture and sadness that was KoD

Feels a little different from the medieval based fantasies, old school asian inspired but on a modern planet. Already enjoying the two main characters.

Really picking up now

So glad i read The Fall first. Knowing who the characters in the prologue are and later aware of the history behind the fables rather than learning through it bit by bit here. Its slowed down a little with the Bear hunt but its now taken an interesting twist with someone I didn't expect to be exhibiting some sort of power.

Three tides joining together, a statue of a woman carrying a behive of marble bees, The Biscuit Box Man and The Folded Up Child, I am already intrigued by this whimsical, usual little story.

Oooh the concept of an Echo is different, an unique way to weaponize memories.

Listened to it twice now after work but been so tired I have fallen asleep. Will give it a go another time.

Had it spoiled that there was a time travel element so I am glad its revealed a lot sooner rather than it be an end twist.
Also at this point there are so many mysteries haha

I swear every chapter inserts a new question or side mystery, exciting for a first book but lil hard to keep track of all the unanswered questions.

Right now I have finished Empire of the Dammed I can soley concentrate on just this and good job because every chapter a new reveal or mystery is thrown our way.

The predictable but sad backstory followed by a cliffhanger of a reveal.

I love when you guess the outcome but not the full outcome, gasps and fist bumps from that reveal.
