I'm very confused on how this is nonfiction when he says things like "I've been hearing" or "In conversation with my gen z students"... it's giving opinion rather than something based on facts. Not a good start. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt though since I'm listening to the audio book. Mayhaps he has references to research in the footnotes that I'm not getting right now

The beginning was totally meant to be quirky and instead it was very confusing to just be thrown into the plot

I am struggling with this book and the fact that Eliza thinks her period is caused by a haunting has me gagged. Girlie pop grew up on a farm, did she think the animals were haunted too???
