Update: I want to keep reading but I’m tired and don’t wanna forget what I’m reading if I try to force myself to finish now.

Okay. I was enjoying this book but what right does the FMC have to feel betrayed and abandoned?!?! People deal with trauma in different ways. Dax decided to isolate himself completely. Yes they talked about going to Hawaii but they thought they wouldn’t make it out of the bank robbery alive. I don’t like that she followed his friend to the cabin. I don’t like that she’s making herself a victim in his pain.

Update: I completely disagree with the author making the MMC feel and admit that he was a “d!ckhead”. He just stated the truth, a hard truth but the truth nonetheless. I get that the situation is beyond complicated but it’s doesn’t have to be. I’m still not a fan of the FMC.

Update: I feel his pain and wanna hug him so badly.

Update: I don’t know why, but I’m just not feeling this book. It’s kind of all over the place and I’m not a big fan of how the FMC is acting. I know I’m not far into it but something just feels off. DNF-ing for now, maybe for good.

Update: I’m really enjoying this one. I’m so nervous about the third act breakup I’ve heard about though. I’m hoping the guy doesn’t have to grovel cause blackmail is no joke and if the author forces him to be all “I’m awful and horrible for breaking up with you” it’ll immediately drop my rating.

Update: It’s…okaaay? But not what I want right now. Maybe later. Maybe.

Update: I’m so incredibly disappointed and disgusted with this book. It had potential and I thought I’d enjoy it. But then it went and was outright sacrilegious and blasphemous. It is NEVER okay to make a joke about Jesus. To claim something as your “body” and your “blood” in reference to His body and blood. Absolutely evil and a 100% D-N-F! 😖

Update: I’m so over the FMC. I do NOT like her right now especially. I’m fuming at her for real no joke. She tells the MMC she needs space, time to think, but when he doesn’t come after her…respecting what she says…she decides he obviously doesn’t want her, obviously is letting her go, and she was obviously only ever a promise to be kept to her dead fiancé. 🙄 🤦🏻‍♀️

Update: The desire and need to stay awake and finish is so strong…BUT…I don’t want to miss a thing 👀 and with how tired I am, I might not remember anything if I keep going.

Update: I wanna make a guess about something. Is whatever she has that the killer wants hidden inside the stuffed elephant her dad gave her?
