It’s… going. The female narrator has this weird uptick at the end of her sentences. Lucy is kind of annoying but not the weird FMC.

Cute, with a little predictability if you know what the symptoms are. Interesting view of how Chinese-Americans vary in their “Chinese-ness” (a phrase the characters and author uses in her note!) within a neighborhood.

So… I finished. If only because I’m working on an art project and I needed something to fill the noise in the back. It gave me “gold star lesbian” vibes and that wasn’t good. It was overall meh and I feel bad cuz my friends talked it up so much and I just.. wasn’t impressed.

Oh lord this book. It’s been all over the place. Let’s see how it ends finally.

This book could have been about 50 pages less and still been great!
