I picked this up off the library shelf, and it's holding my attention.

Something I learned in this round is how and why to try to shop for groceries and supplies just once a month.

One thing I learned is how to follow "the casserole formula."

I recorded some basic recipes for pizza dough and for multi-purpose biscuit dough in recipe app from what I read today.

The contents of this book were a bit too advanced for me, but it was helpful for getting a big picture look at the wheel of the year, foraging responsibly, and growing and using magical plants, including poisonous ones. I also noticed it has an excellent index in the back.

The Potawatami language the author is learning doesn't divide the world into masculine & feminine but into animate & inanimate. Forces of nature -- beings, plants, water -- are understood to be respected selves, not things. Now I'm thinking of how I've gradually adopted feminine pronouns for (lifeless) objects. (It's a quirk adapted from too much queer YouTube.) It seems to raise the things' status somehow.

Consider the story of Skywoman (an indigenous creation story) vs. the story of Eve. An ancestral gardener who creates, vs. an exile who suffers and subdues. These stories shape cultures' relationships with the living world.

Reasons 5-6 that men cause all unwanted pregnancies: Birth control for women is hard to access & hard to use; b.c. for men is easy to access & easy to use.
