Raffi is starting Christian Zionism: Road-map to Armageddon?
I got an interesting start with the book, that will reveal the roots of this ideology that creeped into Christian mindset.

Raffi is on page 172 of 470 of Levant: Splendour and Catastrophe on the Mediterranean
The Levant is very interesting, but the author somehow makes you feel that he has a lot of info, and he just pastes them, without working on the cohesiveness of the paragraphs.

His style is easy, the mood is great, and the stories are spicing up as his narratives unveil.

Raffi is on page 110 of 388 of Palestinian Memories
It's a very touching story of keeping the faith, even through despair, specifically of the mother.
Many people think that all the Palestinians are Muslims. There are Christians, even though a minority, but there are Christian Palestinians, who have been living on their lands for centuries.

The family goes through a lot of pain. I loved the bits of details of tradition at that time.
The family comes from an Orthodox (Christian sect) tradition, but the young girls admired the missionaries.

Just started reading this book. I thought it would provide not much new topics, however, the stories narrated by the grandmother and then the mother are very interesting. From the start, the storyline captured my attention, and am following through this real story.

Raffi is on page 94 of 176 of The Post-Christian Mind
His style of writing has changed and it's more concise than his "Christian Mind". He is more to the point and gives examples and tells stories.

Raffi is on page 25 of 200 of The Naive and the Sentimental Novelist: Understanding What Happens When We Write and Read Novels
Until now it's very interesting. I got to know how people read (naively, sentimentally), and how the novelist writes. It's about behind the scenes of novel writing.

I sometimes get puzzled looks, when I tell people that I read several books in parallel.
I have a book that I read at home, one when getting to work by car, while my brother's driving, and another one that I get excited to start, so I read bits from it.

It's an exciting book, that I'm reading rather slowly and taking the scenes to my imaginary mind one step at a time.

I will remember the Armenian Genocide, perpetrated by the Ottoman(Turkish) government and ask Turkey to admit and compensate and return the land to its rightful owners.

Wow, I never knew that C. S. Lewis had such a childhood. His story reminds me of Dickens characters and stories.

His looking-back style is very sarcastic, despite the loneliness and difficulties.

Bailey is amazing! He is unveiling a lot of background and culture and customs that were prevalent during Jesus' time.
Bailey has studied and knows very well the Middle Eastern culture and the traditions, something that is lost in the West, but much needed to understand the Scriptures better.

By the way, I didn't know that Bethsheba willfully and intentionally bathed in front of her house window, so that King David would see him.

The Christmas story is clarified as well.

Wow, a very interesting and unique book. The author, Kenneth E. Bailey, really goes into the details of the living environment of the time of Jesus and before Him. He gives us more accurate idea of what some passages meant and their background.
Without understanding the proper background of the people and the language (Aramaic, Greek, Hebrew) much is lost.

Are there people on goodreads who fake the number of books that they have read and are reading? If yes, why would they do that?
