Im liking this book so much more than I expected. The characters are so complex, relatable, and raw. The writing is also simple but still beautiful

Well this just got interesting

The way this book captures blatant racism and micro aggressions is insane. Kuang might really be my new favorite writer. I love how eloquently she portrays such a dark universal experience and captures it so perfectly within the plot, character development, and world building.

Not sure where the plot is going but I’m invested and excited to see…

I started this book bc I’ve seen it everywhere and it was part of BOTM. 10 pages into it and OF COURSE it’s about an adjunct professor who loves to read and whose husband is ALSO a tenured professor at the SAME university. But their marriage has gone to shit bc she can’t have kids. What are the odds?! The universe loves messing with me sometimes. I literally laughed out loud cus ain’t no way 🤣 LMAOOO

The plot is not at all what I expected in the best way and the writing is beautiful

The writing, the characters, the storyline, the themes are all so welll done. I’m nervous to see where it goes from here

Love the characters and writing. I really love how she conveys the concept of colonialism so well in such a unique storyline.

Holy crap - I had no idea where this was going but the plot picked up fast and now I can’t put it down. The concept is so interesting and unique. I have absolutely no idea where it is going.
