One of "my" books for this year's library book club. Think this meeting is in May? Can't remember...trying to read ahead.

Hubs already read this, said it was really good. I'm trying to read ahead for the book club meetings that I'll be leading. This is one of "my" meetings.

This one is...yeah. It's gonna be a hard read. The MC has a major eating disorder, a mom who's dying, and lots of other drama. And an irritating obsession with saying "hella" before lots of comments/thoughts.

Created a "Jeff 2026" shelf because someone wanted to keep track of how many books he reads in a year. He's at 6 already. SIX. And I've managed to finish just 2.

Sigh.

Being retired is clearly the way to read more!

It's gotten a bit better, less italics. However, I'm about 3/4 of the way through and I feel like enough could have been cut from this to end it around pg 300 or so.

It's not too bad so far. However, I see that the author is still overly fond of using italics to indicate stress/passion in dialog. Really wish she'd gotten a good editor who could have explained there are ways to do that without the italics...because those things are distracting after a while.

Enjoyed the first book, so I'm giving the sequel a try.

This is cute! I mean, I think it's my first cozy fantasy, although I feel like one of the book club books last year was also a cozy fantasy. I'll have to look back and see.

January 2026 book club selection for work.

I have the large print publication, which is going to be frustrating the crap out of me as far as keeping track of where I am. I need to figure out the math...and I HATE math.

I really want to like this one, and I am reading it, but it's been a bit slow going. Going to keep at it for a bit longer and if I find myself still picking up other things to read instead, then I guess it's going to be a DNF.

Tried to win a copy of this many months ago. Realized my library system picked it up, so now I get to read it. Hubs already did and said it's really good. Sure hope he's right!

Blew through several Phoebe and Her Unicorn books this past weekend while hanging out at my dad's place. REALLY needed that break from reality. LOL
