Didn't finish after 100 pages. I expected a love story and some insights on how love changes our memory/perception and vice versa. Unfortunately, it is all about grief and moving on from the memory of a loved one we lost. Add to that the longwinded style of writing and you know why I give up. The only interesting personages were the original couple and we get almost no insight into Luisa.

I can already tell I'm gonna give it 5 stars. Life is a banquet and the candy jar are just two examples that stuck with me and often come to mind in daily life. And that's just 2 pages of 366. Love it.

Jens is on page 500 of 601 of Good Calories, Bad Calories: Challenging the Conventional Wisdom on Diet, Weight Control, and Disease
The book aims to show how the prevailing views (low fat, high carb as the way to go) were mostly based on false assumptions. For example, discussing cholesterol without discrimination between VLDL, LDL or HDL. Or accepting cause-and-effect between over-eating and obesity, without considering a possible hormonal drive. However a little too much goes into discrediting those mistakes, instead of building her case.

It's different and dated. Not so much about giving clear direction, but it's more a guide to maneuver in a politically savvy way when authority is not clearly established. It's about raising issues on an appropriate time, in the right style, without personifying it and thus not getting burned.
