The book aims to show how the prevailing views (low fat, high carb as the way to go) were mostly based on false assumptions. For example, discussing cholesterol without discrimination between VLDL, LDL or HDL. Or accepting cause-and-effect between over-eating and obesity, without considering a possible hormonal drive. However a little too much goes into discrediting those mistakes, instead of building her case.
