Powering along, as the narrative sucks readers into events. While this was written five-six years ago, there are parts that foretell our current straits here in the United States, which is an easy substitute for the Laconian empire/reich. Tiamat's Wrath seems a true middle entry in a trilogy that concludes the series that opened in Leviathan Wakes. I'm looking forward to the finale, if only for answers.

I will finish this entry in the Will Trent series today, but I'm taking a moment to note that men suck. And whjile I'm a man, I will still admit men suck.

It's remarkable how many pages it's possible to read when life doesn't intervene.

One bad thing about being "behind" in any series is that when you get round to reading the books, the ideas/trends on display are old and hackneyed. Case in point is the oxy/heroin drug addiction on display here in The Midnight Line and the nanobot tech MacGuffin from Excavation that I read just prior to this Lee Child book. Here's hoping 2025 lets me catch up to current events.

Got to that point. Still a shock.

Reading this excellent mystery again as part of the Agatha Christie challenge I accepted for 2026. I'm a bit early reading it, as it's supposed to be the book for June, which is, coincidentally, when I read it last year.

I am going to be finishing this book today, but I'm being forced out of appreciation by Slaughter's political naivete as she's got characters identifying a "hate group" as Antifa.

Either her political as Trump-like or she's willfully or naively clueless and buying into the MAGA notion that Antifa is an actual group as opposed to anyone who is anti-fascist.

They're NOT neo-Nazis. they're an exact opposite.
