Michael is such a great character. Exactly the kind of man who many should aspire to.

Love that Harry and Karrin made up

The antagonistic interplay between Johnny Marcone and Harry is kinda GOATed can't lie, Vlvery intrigued to see how it evolves later in the series. Also, while the author's inexperience is still clear evident in his portrayal of Murph's veiled concern for Harry, I can see in her the building blocks for a character I'm sure I will end up adoring in future.

Some very awkward, Marvel-esque dialogue/writing at times, which is unsurprising given it's the author's first novel. But the fact I don't mind too much is a testament to how good his characterisation is. Really like Harry and Murphy's dynamic (even though I think she's unnecessarily mean sometimes)

This book is better than I remember. A lot of little things sticking out that might be foreshadowing, which if they happen in later books would be so cool. Also Harry is such a likeable protag

I'm a dumb dumb who stopped reading this series after book 3 back in 2020 despite loving it, so very excited to start the re-read of Chicago's finest (and only) wizard private investigator!
