I didn’t think this could get worse, yet here we are.

My first Freida McFaddan. Listen. I like trashy thrillers as much as the next guy but this is SO. BAD. Is all of her writing this terrible?

I got halfway through then left my (signed!) copy on vacation and lost the book! Very sad because it was wonderful!

This might DNF for me. It’s beautifully written but so overly bloated I’ve found myself skipping whole sections. I truly wish this had been tightened up more. I was hooked after Roots, quickly the story began to drag through Trunk, and now in Crown I am skimming and losing track of the threads. It’s such a shame because the writing is decadent in parts.
