This book takes itself too seriously. It could have been better as a mystery and gothic thriller than the attempt at a “romance”. Perhaps the word romance has been redefined. I was hoping that the endless push and pull and exhausting love-hate relationship and toxic back and forth would end with book one… girl, was I wrong. This was so weak and uninspiring to say the least. I wanted more of The fixer’s story

This book is interesting. I like the banter and it’s giving pride and prejudice vibe

So far, this book has banter, a funny MMC who’s obsessed with the FMC, a cat and mouse game that gets tiring at some point and then an FMC whose pursuit for finding what can harm the MMC has turned into something more romantic even if she doesn’t realize it. The spice isn’t well written. It doesn’t capture my interest at all. I even prefer the banter to the spicy scenes. But there’s so much dialogue!!😩

Also Silas seems super invested in pleasing her even though he’s such a crazy character lol

Now there’s a love triangle

The cat and mouse game looks interesting but it’s also getting tiring and I really hope that this is not all there is to their story cause what’s really happening? I’m getting tired and bored of it. The idea is quite interesting but the execution is weak. The audiobook effects are cool though

Started reading and this is definitely well written, it is moving and also deep. And as expected, I knew the racists and descendants of the demonic enslavers would have some nasty things to say about how the book depicts slavery. How do you people expect them to depict the demonic reality of slavery? In a sanitized way? Some even wanted more vampire stuff cause they don’t want to read about their ancestors’ evils

2.5 stars. Because of how upbeat, engaging and fastpaced the story was up until the 55% mark

It’s just been downward from that plot twist. Even the intimate moment felt monotonous
