So many characters to keep track of and none of them are developed with depth yet. I’m not immersed in this book. I’m hoping it comes together.

crumbs of wisdom are scattered through what is otherwise a difficult read for me. It feels like the author is more of an oral storyteller- the writing is somewhat scattered, there are a lot of incomplete sentences, lots of commas and clauses, and some language that is a bit too flowery/metaphorical for my liking.
