It is delicious so far!

The theme of rejection means this book is filled with bitterness. It’s great writing but I’m going to have to take my time with it. I already feel surrounded by bitterness in the larger world in 2026

I’ve been on the fence about whether I will keep reading. It’s not the most engaging read and the writer seems a bit too sympathetic to think very critically about her subjects. They seem to me like The Kardashians in terms of cultural appeal and class divisions. Granted this was published in 2012 but I think there’s more to explore as it seems to parallel our current times
