Part III, Chapter 10

may have finished 1st chapter before I had to return it to the library...

I'm still slogging through this. Thus far, I don't think the title was well-chosen. The book is more a history of Johns Hopkins and surgical advances. Occasional mentions of Halsted's drug addiction don't justify the title. Subject matter is interesting, but not presented in a compelling way.
