If this were virtually any other non-disabled author, the ableism bells would be RINGING and I probably wouldn’t touch this book with a 10-foot pole.

But I love and trust Jodi Picoult, and I’ve read a countless number of her books at this point. Soooooo… please, Jodi, don’t let me down, girl. 🥲😭🤞🏻

When I bought it
I was under the impression the characters were in their early 20s. I thought it was more like New Adult than Young Adult
But no
The characters are 16
They are BABIES
I’m going to have a stroke
Who the fuck told me that it was New Adult because I would like to have a Word

Umm... okay. Hm. Not sure how I’m feeling about this start lads.

And how in the HELL is the family dog named Davy. Perfectly ordinary name.

BUT TWO TWIN HUMAN BOYS ARE NAMED FUCKING SULLY AND CHURCH

THEY SOUND LIKE CATS

...”Wallace Warland” is, perhaps, the most unfortunate name I’ve ever heard 😭😭

When you’re reading a mystery and the writing is Not Great but the mystery itself is fairly intriguing so now you’re torn between not loving the cruddy writing and wanting to know Who Frickin Did It
