Have really enjoyed it up till now but Runcie has not done her narrator any favours. The first half was brilliant and the second half banal.

It’s going nowhere and it’s hard to keep the characters straight cos they’re not different from each other. It’s a repetition of “let’s get off the island, no wait let’s not” and it’s been like that for 30 pages. There’s been no plot movement at all, no uncovering, nothing. Could have used an editor.
