Wow, this is way funnier than I expected it to be but also has come with some incredible gut punches.

Now to begin my practice of voting for books that sound good and were written by marginalized folks because this website's algorithm is a Eurocentric hellscape. Remember folks, it's all fake and the Amazon points don't matter. If you loved a book on the nominee list, please comment and tell me about it. :)

On a more positive note, three of my favorite books of the year are in the memoir category and I don't know who to vote for. So, what a good year for those.

Genuinely, with love in my heart, I ask you what is Life, Death & Giants? I have only heard of three of the novels in the debut category. How many people are Reading with Jenna?! Do we really want a Bush to have this much power again?!

Hi, my name is JC and I listen to two book theme podcasts a week. Get daily newsletters from the biggest book blogging website. Watched the Booker Awards live yesterday. Follow no less than 20 booktubers/bookstagrammers. And am active on two book social media sites. And I don't know half of what these nominations even are. :)

Um, every person in the book is so horrible that I hope someone just kills them all? Like, I am rooting for no one. And I think im supposed to believe the narrator is an anti hero but he's the worst and there seems to be no reason for any of it.

The author has used the word "ursine" four times in 17 pages. Some editor needs to be whacked on the back of the head.
