I'd heard a lot of good things about Gabaldon. Must have been someone else they meant, as this amounts to nothing more than slashfiction. I was expecting something on the level of Temeraire: historical blended with the fantastic. This is just the mainstream equivalent of a badly written post on a fanfic forum. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if Nancy was a self-insert.
