Wow a lot has happened in the matter of a chapter. The juxtaposition of the beginning and the end of this chapter is wildly interesting. The beginning with the introduction of the brotherhood is wildly interesting considering it was just a thought for the first chapter. The book part is interesting considering all it did was affirm Winston’s thoughts. The cliffhanger of the Thought police my jaw was on the floor!

So far this book has been a lot to read. The beginning was very slow for me. As a history lover the premise of the book is fascinating, and to see some of the themes playing out in real life are wild to me, but that is what I was told about this book before reading it. After the first set of chapters it’s starts to pick up at a decent pace which I have really enjoyed. The looming suspense and the build up is scary.

The first set of chapters felt drawn out to me I am glad we got to see more of Glinda and her persuasion and ability. The military presence was interesting and the overtake of Mockbeggar Hall was quite of intrigue. The Time Dragon Clock story was also interesting considering that we haven’t got to see much of its impact outside of here and there stories and action. I am at the reunion and am enjoying this so far!!

This book has been a stark contrast from the other 2 in the series so far. This one I have a love hate relationship with the story is really good and is a great gateway to learning more about some characters that we knew of. The animal sex is a little weird and not that integral to the story so I wonder why it is there. In all it is my least favorite so far but it does a good job at bridging some of the story.

This book is definitely the weirdest in the wicked years so far. I’m intrigued by the lore of the cowardly lion, considering that he’s always had some sort of mystery to him even in the Wizard of Oz. I like to see what has occurred following the departure of the wizard. Yackle was also a character that was intriguing in the first two books so to be able to get some backstory on her. It’s kind of interesting.

I was super lost for a little chunk of the book where Liir is in Southstairs cause I didn’t know the timeframe of when he was recovering and while he was in the Emerald City. Once the book opened up and Liir joins the military the book is a lot easier to digest. I like that his story veers from Elphaba and makes its little more interesting by exploring Quadling Country.

The book is really good so far there is a lot of jumping around which is a little confusing at times but I like the reflection on Liirs life after the death of Elphaba. I also like the unknown of who he actually is it keeps the story interesting they are introducing characters at a really good rate as to not confuse the story or progression!!! I am obsessed with this series!!!!

This book is a far departure from the first book in the Wicked series! That being said so far I am enjoying it I like that we get more in-depth understanding of Liir who was a rather static character in the first book. There are a lot of questions that I hope are answered in this book regarding Liirs past. I also like to see the Wizard of Oz characters in a period that we never saw in the original movie!!
