Certainly not in the mood of reading conversations where they cut each other off so that they can't communicate properly.. this book has a needless filler material vibe. Please get better.

Maybe I'm just in the wrong mood but i can't stomach the resting bitch face vibes from the heroine. Hope this passes away soon.

I read this series for something different from normal regency so I shouldn't whine but a Duke being Ghost of St Giles is jumping the shark. If the book is more about every detail of his jumping over London rooftops, it's going to be a chore to get through. The romance too doesn't seem promising.

Most hilarious part about cynsters is they are probably the dumbest Heroes I've read. In most books h requests a Cynster's help in investigating something but they suck at it and in the end they prove to be not important in solving the crime.

In this one, H can't figure out secret identity of his 6-foot mystery woman despite meeting his 6-foot neighbour h just after. And other glaringly obvious clues.

“D’Orsey led the forces that took my family’s home and my father’s widow,” he said, s. “After losing her husband of fifteen years, his head displayed on a pike for ridicule, the woman is ill with grief, and yet D’Orsey still refused to release her.”
“I understand that—”
“Ye understand nothing! A price had to be paid, a lesson given,” he said in a low, menacing voice. “Justice demands blood for blood.”

Good writing.

His cock leaked like an adolescent boy finding his first Playboy as he listened to her breathing catch and deepen with each grind of his hips.

Say what? Why would you want your readers to imagine that?

Despite being one of my favourite tropes – widower hero needing wife to care for his children – the lack of passion is completely killing it for me. If the hero isn't pushing heroine's buttons and getting handsy as we reach the midway, the later romantic resolution will not be satisfactory.

Hero finally agrees to marry again because he's getting wetdreams due to not having sex for one year. He needs a warm body during winter and yet the whole winter is gone and they only sleep together once during it. Every time he sleeps with her he goes weeks and months moping about his "desires".

Heroine refuses to marry a good looking banker because she doesn't love him but agrees to marry hero sight unseen. Heroine chooses to close her school she spent five years building up in a city to go live in wilderness. It's my personal pet peeve about authors need to unnecessarily make OM/OW as unsuitable even though they have no apparent fault.

Even though much of this Ms Coulter re-wrote to remove the unpalatable portions, but this still packed a punch. Ruthless abduction, deception, forced seduction, succumbing to pleasure in nights and shooting pistols in day, a truly alpha H who now possess what he desired and is now patiently courting to win over her love. Great stuff, though not much plot. I love h's outrages in public and her surrender in private.

Amazingly frustratingly and tension filled ride with our h, who has been in love with her savior since she was young and until now has doggedly pursued him. With him finally relenting, we're onto a new phase but the chase and the emotional journey we undertook with our h has been worthwhile.

Triggers: Not for everyone as it contains cheating, infidelity, misogyny, may-december, biker language.

Ms Martin is a wonderful writer. H is living in a trance to repel the world but with his ward's introduction in his life, he has come out of it and realized that he's not the man he pretends to be. h is equal parts quirky, innocent and eager to explore the passion developing between her and her guardian. Though I'm reading a contemporary guardian-ward parallelly and I think the tension is much better in that one.

I have been trying to read new authors, especially historical romance. Yet DP somehow manages to pull me in. Her brawny, caveman hero are my weakness. At least this one's short.

|Under it he was wearing a red flannel plaid shirt and as near as she could tell, no undershirt. The flannel was unbuttoned halfway down his brawny dark chest, and it had the thickest covering of hair she’d ever seen on a man.

Big fan of books that start by establishing hero's sexual virility by opening with him being in bed with one of mistresses. If our H are supposed to be rakes, I want to see a sample of their rakish behavior. Though H being unnecessary rude to his mistress is not something I like reading. So many of the mistresses can easily be turned into heroines. Demeaning them for liking sex is not a good trope.

“Mine,” he breathed against her mouth. Her movements were exciting him, her little cries caught in his lips, making him hungry. “All of you. Here and here…sweet young body, ripe for my hands. I could make a meal of you, Nicky.”
He had her gown around her waist, and she couldn‟t even protest. Her eyes closed, tears falling down her cheeks while he looked, touched, delicately tasted her pretty, firm breasts.

This is why I read Diana Palmer.

“You belong to me,” he said simply as he began to unfasten buttons. “I have every right in the world.”
“You don‟t,” she tried to protest, but his hand was inside the gown now, his lean, cool fingers against virgin flesh, teasing, tracing, until she arched up and trembled.

The hair in his armpits wasn’t wiry—it was like black silk and at least three inches long. “There are things about you I am only just discovering,” she murmured.
“I am a man of many parts, some of them more prominent than others,” he punned and her eyes flew to his groin

Getting a bad vibe about this one. It's set in medieval period yet lacks the medieval characteristics. I don't like bratty heroines and this one seems to be way OTT bratty. Not feeling great about H either. His physical description fits an henchman more aptly than a hero.

. His shoulders were more than twice the width of hers and his chest was darkly furred with fine black hair. His neck was thick and his

I recently discovered that NYT has a quiz about copy-editing their articles. It is very good and pretty quick way of testing your grammar skills.

I don't know how many of my friends and followers follow tennis but I wish to share this important moment that happened yesterday. Simona Halep won her first Grand Slam title, the French Open, at Roland Garros in Paris yesterday. I have been a huge fan of hers and this victory has come after she lost her last 3 slam finals.

H has been humorous and interesting so far. h, now a widow, married an old Duke according to her father's wishes. Duke never slept with her again after getting his heir. I'm having trouble understanding the h's desire for wifely duties as she hasn't been shown as a passionate character, and considering she's supposed to be prim and proper, her attempt to seduce an old codger was baffling.

First book by Michelle Reid. I wanted to read Reid's earlier works and while checking out which one to read, I was surprised to find most had the MCs already involved in an affair. I may have read similar books but pleasantly surprised at the pattern in a particular author.
