Has the recent spurt of sexual misconduct reports by men in authority changed how you view some of romance novel heroes' actions?

Vellini I think it was an open secret. Everybody knew, no one dared speak. Sexual harassment/abuse has always existed and sadly will always exist, because there will always be evil human beings who'll use their power to crush others they'll deem to be their lesser.
So no, It does not change my view, I tell myself that they are fictional stories with fictional characters. In no way I can see myself with the kind of men I tend to love in my books, that would be awful!

I agree with you on that. I am a huge palmer fan and adore her heroes who usually are total jerk and manhandle their heroines. While reading we clearly see that most of those heroes don't act with any evil intentions so their actions don't really cloud my view of a book.

I still see some reviewers who don't like certain aspects and criticize the relationship between the MCs because of it, treating it like a real life relationship.

Vellini My bigest issue with palmer books is her female MCs, it's the same with most romances or dark romances (where one can find anti H in profusion), they rarely fight back. I've always found that fact very frustrating, especially when you know that those are books destined to women, written by women!

One reason i think the heroines never fight back in her books is because they know heroes and have a crush on them from early years. If earlier crush is part of her plotline then she writes herself into a corner. In some books where the MCs are strangers, heroines have fought back but since it has to be a HEA, their relenting in the end makes us forget the earlier fights.
