Maybe things are getting too messy

This is such an interesting novel. All the characters are so messy and hard to pin down and feel so real (especially in the bad ways authors usually sugarcoat). It’s very “real”, but it also makes it hard to sink into

Very bittersweet to know that after all this time The Selection series is about to be over for me 🥺

God Kiera Cass’s writing style is so readable. I knocked out so much of this book today 😭

Everyone keeps asking if Eadlyn prefers women because of how she treats the me and she’s always so immediate to shut it down and they act like it’s so scandalous to even suggest… this really is a relic of its time 😭

I love when the A plot and B plot and C plot start flirting with each other and slightly overlap before the actual convergence 🤭

Josie is acting like a normal 15 year old would (wanting to talk to the older kids, giggling with her friends, having crushes, wanting to be involved) and everyone treats her like she’s public enemy number 1 😭

This book becomes much more enjoyable once the Selection actually starts. Still not good per se, and not a lot of it makes sense, but the Selection is just such a fun concept I’m at least having fun

Why do none of the legacy characters feel the same at all? Also why is nobody likable? Also why is it a dystopian that’s so… boring?

Also how is the solution to civil unrest, anarchy, and bigotry across the country to pimp your daughter out on a reality tv show against her will 😭
