if i had a nickel every time a dino book mentions that the reader should look at ducks reproductive systems i would have two nickels

malta you are soooooo stupid and the worst is going to happen eventually because this is a robin hobb book. of course horrible things will happen when characters make stupid decisions

unfortunately not enjoying this as much as his other two books but i think its due to the fact it falls into the matter that is unavoidable when it comes to dinosaurs which is "why did x happen? why didnt x do this? well hopefully with time we will get to know those answers" which to a regular reader, it would feel almost like well do we know anything?

its really interesting how for dinosaurs, there is so much rapid evolution; as if they were trying to figure out what worked the best. its just unfortunate that once they got the best parts down, they went (almost) extinct. and for mammals, after they took reign after the extinction of most dinosaurs + reptiles, they too have done the same. and yet they too might go extinct but because of us
