so far one character in this, could easily be done without. no offense but why does every single book with a quirky friend group need the woman who is kind of a bitch but everyone is like "noo thats just deandra shes just a cunt but thats just who she is!" im honestly getting so beyond tired of it

i think i might have to dnf this. i have read a few books that are technical, dense etc but i just cannot get into this writing. it focuses too much on the details that arent necessary and it takes away all the attention while the interesting details is so little. i tried so hard but god i just cannot get into it :////

ahegao/ballad of sexual repression, so far the weakest story but it is also something that you find yourself encaptured by it all as well. 3.5 maybe

i really find it so fascinating when you read a book and you cannot find yourself even slightly intrigued by one aspect out of a book

i feel like the author doesnt know what kind of book this is, what audience it is trying to capture and doesnt know where she wants the characters so she is doing everything either half assed or extremely fast paced so the details cannot be looked at for too long

out of all of the books ive read that is about dinosaurs in a general sense, always, at least once its like yeah, some of these we can see how they fucked but for some others, it is a complete guessing game how they fucked

so far, out of reading this and his work thus far, i think his best in this is the case studies of particular dinosaurs, similar to his other books where he goes into a specific type of dinosaur in detail. he seems to go into details you don't hear much in other books

one thing i really like about david hones books is that in all of them, he has chapters but then subsections. in his tyrannosaur book for ex. one chapter would be about the head, subsections are eyes; talks about that, brain; talks about the brain etc etc. makes it so much more informative without making it seem like you are dumping information

havent technically started this yet just gearing it up until i finish either rejection or the dino book im getting tomorrow since i am So Close to finishing this stack of "likely donate" books
