The last few chapters have been abouth marxist authors one more crazy than the other. But Ernst Bloch takes the lead and I doubt someone can overtake him. He states that communism will not only provide all materialist desires of humanity, but also all religious, meaning once we have communism we will conquer death and... we will have a true God.

Yet I do not get it, why the modern left holds in such esteem individuals with such contradictory and inconsistent views. Just finished the Chapter on Sorel. I read his main book, Reflection on Violence, but to my shame I can not say I truly understood the guy.
I now see how he is the one who reformed marxism into proto fascism.

I guess any book on ideology must go through the clasics of that ideology. Here I am wondering. Should I read the chapter on this guy, and then ignore all of his books? Should I trust the author that he did a good job in distilling the content of all the books and life of a clasic into one Chapter ? To the clasics that I have read, I must say the author dose a good job, and sheds light that a casual read may miss.

Finished the first book, The Founders. The author is not harsh to Marx and Engles as I expected him to be He presented their worldview in the most complex yet easy to understand way I ever saw. Yet his critic of the Founders I feel lies in how vague and imprecise their ideas are at deep scrutiny This opens the door of multiple interpretations of their work in a manner that reminds me of religious writings.

Ah yes, ild Hegel.. telling us a confuzed concept in the most confuzed manner... and he is considered great for this...

Zionism during world war 2 feels strange. I was left with more questions than answers. I get that the scope of this book is limited... but even so...
