Oof!!! It’s SO long. So long. And SO complicated. But…I think there are many characters that are poc but hey all read as white? Which…🤷‍♀️ IDK. It took my 55 chapters to get into it. I’m constantly confused. Sticking with it because of so many positive reviews. I just think this is really not my cup of tea, despite all the queerness. SO much Mind-numbing world building, and the writing is so bland.

This book is driving me a little crazy. It’s super het normative and incredibly…privileged. The cis hetero white lady was super picky and dismissive of boyfriends for dumb reasons (a group of women like her list being short and saying “awesome” too much as reasons they broke up with boyfriends). Sooooooooo slow. But good? Writing is fine. Characters interesting. I don’t understand the high rating…this is less a romance and more an incredibly long slow burn and kind-of finding your way further away before you find your way back. I thought this was erotic?
