The novel to end all novels! Or maybe that's War and Peace. They're both Tolstoy though, so that's saying something

I think I am actually going to save this book for later. It's not that I don't like it, but I want to start some fiction that I've been meaning to pick up rather than a memoir.

Starting up this one too, who knows how long it will take to read but this is where we start getting into the good stuff

I can't tell if it's freaky or cliche that this author did the nasty in a cemetery like Mary Shelley. It's a hell of a way to find out that men are trash

Not even that far into the book and I'm already seeing some of the Argentine ingenuity that I think is charming and fascinating. The author says she's too poor to afford to be buried en el cementerio de Recoleta, but that's no problem, because she challenges her friends to throw her ashes behind the doors of a tomb that she likes. That's a free burial, right there

It's been over a decade since I've read a full-length book in Spanish. Mariana Enriquez is an award winning Argentinian author, and I have been missing Latin America lately, so I thought I would give her work a try. When I studied abroad, I lived very close to the Recoleta cemetery in Buenos Aires, which is essentially a maze of mausoleums. I'll be interested to hear an Argentinian's mediations about it.

This is pretty fascinating! The dietary advice that this book provides isn't, like, super groundbreaking--Obviously eating less processed foods is beneficial for your weight. But, it's helpful to know WHY this is the case, and it's similarly helpful to know that focusing on calories is less important than focusing on food quality when it comes to producing GLP-1.

I'm going to be totally honest, this book seems a little gimmicky, but I'm overweight so I'm willing to give it a shot

I liked Dr. Mattei's previous book so much that now I'm reading this one!

I can already tell that I'm going to love this book. I have seen the author do a couple of interviews for podcasts, and she struck me as both very astute and sincere in her study of economic relations. She uses language that is very accessible to the average person, so I'm excited to see her perspectives on class struggles.

This previous chapter is actually one of the weaker points in Tsongkhapa's system, although it does still hold water philosophically. He bends over backwards to justify some passages from Chandrakirti that appear to be contradictory. He does this very well, and in the end his justification does end up working, but the explanation presented here is very convoluted even if it is logically sound.

The last 3/4 of this book are going to take some time because it's a condensation of Tsongkhapa's philosophical arguments. I want to understand all of it so I am progressing slowly, which is not a bad thing!
