UGH this book is hysterically funny and awkward and comforting and achingly bittersweet and full of music and heartbreak and wonder and wow that's life isnt it

Tbh probably the most vile thing about Count Dracula is that he is a self-centered, entitled aristocrat buying up land in a different country

3 things that make us human, according to John Green:

-our ceaseless yearning
-our habit of wandering
-how we love the feeling of the sun’s light on our skin

“I remember thinking that I would never be a kid again, not really, which was the first time I can recall feeling that intense longing for the you to whom you can never return. Sarah Dessen once wrote that home is “not a place, but a moment.” Home is a teddy bear, but only a certain teddy bear at a certain time.”

Me: Oh i bet Elizabeth is going to see Darcy in London! That might be just a bit awkward

A few chapters later: Darcy unexpectedly shows up while Elizabeth is in Kent instead, PROPOSES to her, they argue, they leave, she goes to his estate, he’s not there, then he surprises her in HIS OWN HOME and plays meet the parents with her aunt and uncle?!?!

Miss Austen you brilliant madwoman

This will never not crush me. How do you even come up with a line that tender and poetic, AND make it rhyme? It’s like a hug for my brain. John Green, you are a magnificent creature
