So excited to have received an early copy of Wendell Berry’s latest book taking us once again to Port William .

Stating this today since it’s Indigenous Peoples Day .

I have decided (inspired by a friend) to cut back, way back on the time I spend writing reviews. I’ll still be around Goodreads because I enjoy the interactions and connections I’ve made here. I’ll still rate the books I read and maybe write a sentence or two if moved . Thanks to all of you I have connected with and I look forward to continued interaction on Goodreads with you.

This will be a DNF for me at 40%. I can’t pinpoint exactly why, but at this point in the novel, it’s just not holding my interest .Three women, three different places, three time frames. I started to skim so decided it was time to give up.

Confession time - I’ve never read this book! Great time to read it since it begins on Christmas Day. There’s also no way I’ll go see the upcoming movie without having read this !

I’ve read over 60 pages and that’s enough. I thought I was up for something different but it’s not working. On to something else

The Arc of this is just not readable. Too many missing letters from words and it’s driving me crazy. Disappointed as I really think it’s one I’d like . I’ll
contact the publisher:(

Since I had trouble with the overdrive audio , I just got an Audible trial membership so I can finish listening!

I listened to over two hours and it’s fabulous read by Maya Angelou. I’m bummed out . Went back to resume reading and it was marked returned :). I contacted Overdrive and all they could do was put me on the top of the hold list . A two week wait ! Not sure what happened. I’ll have to wait!

Going to start my first audiobook!
