Dare I say…this might be a 4-5 star read?

Religious trauma AND lesbians? Heart eyes.

This is by no means a perfect book. It feels rushed at times (with the relationship, with the leaps in plot points) but it is beautifully written. The struggles with faith and belief is excellent and very relatable to me. I find Jude to be incredibly reflective of my own experiences. Maybe that’s why I’m enjoying it so much

Hoping a good old fashioned medieval cannibal story will do the trick of pulling me out of a DNF slump.

Oh no. Oh no I might DNF this. This has got to be the WORST dual POV I’ve ever read. Get rid of him!! I don’t want him!!

There’s so much I missed doing the audiobook

Kinda struggling through this one. The FMC is irritating and lusting randomly. There’s a war but I don’t know what it’s about or why the bad guys are the bad guys. Also at 21% I thought I’d understand what’s happening and what the plot is and what the magic system is. Unsure if I’m going to finish.

You know what, no. I’m not going to explain why I started this over the day after I finished it.

I wanted to be an informed reader so I could say whether or not it was still HP adjacent and it isn’t really. The world building is so much better than HP and yes, Helena and Kane are still Dramione coded. But I fear I love this more than I thought I would.
