I'm having a hard time with the relationships. I feel like this series is more a why choose for Luke than Violet. I love that everyone is finding what works for them and the way they are making this work, but I still feel like this is more about everyone's love for Luke than any of the other relationships. Even when the other couples are together it still seems to be all about Luke

Funny that in book 1 cayde says his fathers never hit him before that he didn't believe in hitting child, but the beginning of this book is a flash back of his dad beating him.

I think I may have lost interest. A virgin being caned to orgasm after never have any pain play before is just utterly ridiculous and just pushed me right out of the story.

Time for me to reread again before starting the new one! Every time a new one comes out I start from the beginning. I love this series so much!

I feel like this will be an unpopular opinion, but I am not a fan of Daniella and Connor. First off didn't she think someone else was her mate in the last book.

I'm having the hardest time reading this. I just can not connect with Sorcha. Usually, I can find something in the female mc that I understand, like, or at least respect but with Sorcha, I just can't. She feels inconsistent to me.

So her pull toward Knox and the fact that she said she forgave merc but barely touched him unless in dreams was already annoying me. but now after what Knox did and she has no issue with him being close not flashbacks no PTSD it makes no sense.

Her willingness to overlook the amount of things both Merc and Knox hide from her while demanding truth from her annoys me.

I'm putting this book on hold. I can't seem to connect with the character, I find I don't really like Harley. She reads like a spoilt brat to me. She's an asshole to her adoptive parents and for no reason that I can really understand. Even if they were sacred of her they still did everything to be good parents and encouraged her to practice something that as she explained it they were scared of.

So far im enjoying this story very much. I only have one pet peeve, this is supposed to be set in la but occasionally you can tell the author is not from the united states lol. It always throws me off a bit when characters use terms that we don't it's odd. at one point she says "the crazy girl who topped people when they crossed her." Topped isn't a word we use here so it makes her inner thoughts read as odd.

In not sure that I can finish this book. I hate that everything that makes jade special also now makes aisha special. Jades a mage, now Aisha is, Jade is tied to the source, now Aisha is, they both have complex emotions and if I had to guess if say Aisha's gonna end up with 3 guys too. Personally I don't need a 14 yr old in my erotic novels i know she's not doing anything but for me she's irrelevant to the story.

So just ran into my pet peeve. I don't like when the author makes the main female special but then takes that away by giving us another person whos special too. I means Jade is no longer unique and takes away some of the point to it.

I just wanna say something that drives me crazy is when authors set their books in America but don't use correct terminology. No one in America says vest when talking about an undershirt and we don't say jumper it a sweater. for me it ruins the flow of the story all I keep thing is why does she say or think those terms when shes never been outside north america.

I'm confused as to why Finn thinks shes pampered even though hes heard what happen to her. If hes listened to a word she said she was more a prisoner than a princess in her home. Yet he seems to think that she spoiled, she's sheltered not spoiled.

I'm a little confused as to why Kage needs to explain Alice having a human form. Shes had one since the first book, but the way they are explaining it right now is making it sound like this is the first time

Hearing her call beignets donuts is a litttle annoying. Im from louisiana and although I know they are the same princible they are not the same thing.

So I found misinformation. In the first book we were told that Essie Studdy with Marie Laveau and her daughter marie but in this book we are told that she is the granddaughter of Marie Laveau.

Im currently reading a chapter a night with my son. This may take a while lol

Finally starting this have been waiting so long. Tried to start it twice now only to realize I felt like I was missing something. Just a heads up, you dont have to, but reading A Demons Dark Embrace and Plying with Monsters will make this book make more sense.

Im in love with these characters and this world. Its beautiful and terrifying and intriguing.

Only complaint is the word kerb being used. I know that it is correct but you set the story in the usa use the language from here. It should be curb.

In tears. Life is hard to deal with day by day but having to remember every heartbreak all at once ....... crushing! And then being forced to remember what broke you to start with .....
