Started this up again. It finally swung back to me after almost two months on hold. I have no idea why this book is so popular in Portland right now.

After one section, the author asks, "Why can't that be state policy?" after citing yet another anecdote, this time about someone who acted kindly and rationally in the face of conflict. Because people, Sarah. Because people.

Anecdote City. There are some important ideas here, but packaged in a really unappealing way. This would have been better served as a series of essays published online. The unkind part of me wants to say “put it on your blog, lady.” The revised reading order is recommended.

I have to return this to the library, but I want to finish it later, so for now it’s “In Progress”

And it keeps getting worse! Is there any hope for humanity?

This is so much harder than I thought it would be. Sooooo not life affirming.
