As usual, I'm using Vol 1 as a stand-in for the series as a whole.

Finally reading the Richard Howard translation.

'Astromania' has everything I could want from a short story.

"We (the undivided divinity operating within us) have dreamt the world. We have dreamt it as firm, mysterious, visible, ubiquitous in space and durable in time; but in its architecture we have allowed tenuous and eternal crevices of unreason which tell us it is false."

I thought I'd read all of the stories in this book in other collections, but quite a few of these seem unfamiliar. Excited to dive in.

This edition is listed as an alternate version of the hefty Side Real Press Ewers collection, but has a different table of contents.

Absolutely.

'The Death of Halpin Frayser' is such a ghoulish story, I loved it.

Every story I've read in this so far feels like it's specifically riffing on Ligotti's The Night School and The Glamour. I'm very much in love.

Can hardly believe I'm actually holding a copy of this.

Revisiting for Halloween. Will probably skip Arthur Gordon Pym as I reread it over the Winter.

I haven't been particularly impressed by this collection, so it's been slow going, but the title story is really that good.

I try to pace myself with short books that I instantly love, but sometimes they're just too good for me to help myself. I've put it down after each chapter but every time I just want to pick it up again. It's looking very likely that I'll read the whole book today.
