we have taken a step too far into romantasy
there is a lot of sexy time while horribly injured/facing doom

feeling odd because i really enjoyed the 1.5 novella, this one is a bit over the stop on the sexiness for me

idk who recommended this for book club but i’ve never seen such a certified hater for a main character. like more of a hater than Dostoevsky characters

we’re doing a typical trials with murder and allies, very fun, written well so yay. may be the first romantasy book i’ve enjoyed in awhile? MC has a really good reason to be strong and feisty which for some reason the MCs in the genre have a hard time with backstories that make sense for their behavior

OKAY- not as bad as i thought was able to go no no no womenflesh character is bad, but still felt kinda red pilled? characters would go womenflesh man so lame and cowardly and pathetic BUT what a generous guy he can be. example of him being nice is taking care of his cousins wife and child after killing said cousin :/

idk the new pov they added keeps talking about the wasted “womenflesh” of a young girl- YUCK. don’t want to be in this man’s mind- not sure the book is competent enough to make a yuck POV be a good literary analysis of evil doers since the first book was so for funzies. worried author thinks womenflesh is funzies.

okay i finished the first book in this three book set, i like it but it’s not gooood per say? it’s inconsistent. reminds me of fourth wing (not literally) in the sense that its purpose is to just have fun. if i think too hard the details dont make sense
