Talia Hibbert is so unserious for this, absolute perfection !! and I cannot believe it took me this long to pick up another one of her books, I’ve laughed more in the last two hours reading this than I have in the last two months

Yknow I DO agree with some of the criticisms I’ve seen at this point, like yes the grief and widower status is very much an important part of Mike’s narrative but this IS a romance and it would be more believable if he didn’t talk about his dead wife *quite* so often, big yikes energy bud. STILL a very good book tho I like it ~

Yknow when the hot and cold and back and forth just works? and it makes no sense for them to be together but the chemistry is off the charts?? Well if you love those tropes look elsewhere bc it’s not working here. *womp womp*

started off promising, I do like the concept and French-inspired world building, but it feels a bit too much on the nose for me. The dialogue is corny and it’s starting to grate, character interactions feeling kinda forced, even for YA/NA it feels like immature writing. pretty disappointing :/

yknow this book is really cool so far, like in the disturbing way dystopian books have to make you extremely concerned about the irl themes they’re reflecting ❤️🙃

you’d think I’d have more audiobook listening hours in by now considering it is pretty much the only thing I’m allowed to do (#concussed for Christmas) but I’m only allowed to listen at 1x speed and keep falling asleep which is such a SHAME because I should’ve read this years ago and I’m eating it up

this feels… slow. been trying to convince myself to keep an open mind but I feel like I’m playing “how many times can I hear the word macabre before I hate it and everything,” the running tally is 3 times in 30 pages, but the next one might cause me to yeet this and its glaring inconsistencies out the nearest window.
