This is trying too hard for me right now. May be my life chaos, or may be the book, I can't tell and I want to love this book. I'd hoped to be hooked immediately. :(

I've been dying to read this since July. I AM EXCITE.

This isn't pulling me in the way Pretty Girls did.Like a person was just murdered so a cop goes over and asks to see the diary (written in Braille) and then thinks: "for some reason, Lena got the impression she was touching the pages because [..] had" -instead of reading it. For some reason? Yeah I'd say so bring their romantic relationship and all. Other things in the same vein are really stupid to see.

Holy. Fuck. That book was incredible.

Oh my gawd. Omgomgomg.

"Because I said so. "She paused again. "Sweetheart, I know you're an adult, but adults are like vampires. The older ones are much more powerful." HA! I'm going to have to remember that for my own kids, LOOOL.

I want to quote this whole book. You guys need to read this. Seriously.

Picked this up from browsing on my kindle and took a chance - so far I'm enjoying it! I really like psychological thrillers and haven't read enough of them.

Well, there are aspects to the story that I despise - which isn't surprising, but it's nice seeing Garwood reference old characters from back when I was really into these stories. She's still a good storyteller and very readable.

"They fought bitterly over everything, and the coveted one prize most of all: princess Gabriel. At the mere mention of her name they became as rabid as mad dogs. Both barrons were determined to marry this prized beauty." Ah, yes, I remember why I don't read traditional romance.

I used to be a massive fan of Julie Garwoods so of course I chose her for one of my romance reads for the new blog feature: genre spotlight!

Started this gem last night and it's looking like all I needed was Meda to break my slump! Gah, I hope so at least. So far so good ^_^

I keep falling asleep when I'm reading this... and it still hasn't really pulled me, I'd have no trouble just stopping (which I might do) :/

So far so good, it's not quite reaching the level of awesome I'd wanted, but it's early.

I'm reading this slow af because it's scaring the crap out of me, lol.

It's a dark and stormy night - what better time to pick this back up?

Of course I dropped everything to start this.

I had to force myself to put this down late last night because I wouldn't have been able to sleep had I not. It's wicked creepy!

Well, so far I'm enjoying it but it's reading like The Hunger Games 2.0 :/ We have differences of course, but it's similar enough that it HAD to have been heavily inspired by THG.

Not bad, just really reminiscent of one of my all time favorite series.

Here's hoping an old favorite can cure my slump. So far I'm enjoying it.

Hm, I can't tell if this needs more editing or if the things I'm seeing were on purpose. If they were on purpose I can't figure out the reasoning. We're talking things like not capitalizing the name of one horse but capitalizing another, the starts of random sentences lack capitalization and sometimes the vernacular slips - again (people say 'were' but then suddenly there's a 'was'). It's distracting -___-

Well, this is going ok, still not in love. The accent is super western (I is, it were, if'n, ect) but words ending in 'ing' aren't clipped to 'in, and I keep getting tossed out of the story because I clip it in my head to match the vernacular and then my eyes remind me it's not clipped.
