I'm still absolutely loving this. The romance!!!

I'm not very far in at all, but so far the writing style feels a little like a modern Patricia A. McKillip, which is a massive compliment, as she's recently become a favourite fantasy author of mine. Sapphic novels tend to be underrated on this site, so I'm hoping this'll be even better than the rating implies.

It's way too soon to tell, but I'm really liking this so far. Paul is fascinating.

I can't believe grown man Bob Burgess is giddy with joy because he's going away with Lucy......... to visit his seriously injured nephew in hospital. Wow. Get some priorities, my guy.

I read the first 137 pages of this in hospital and it managed to keep my attention and slightly distract me from my discomfort, so that's high praise. Regardless, it does feel pretty YA and basic so far.
