This is growing on me.

I struggle with Adam Roberts writing. This is the third book I’ve read by him. The last two were over a decade ago, so I figured I’d give him another go. But the same challenges remain - He’s got interesting ideas, but weird gruesome interludes crop up in his writing ( I shouldn’t say unexpectedly because I actually do expect it at this point), and his sense of humor does not land well with me. We shall see.

This book proves to me that I dislike romance, no matter how lovely the prose. Simply do not care.

Much better this time around, reading all four in a row.

Rereading for the fourth time.

Finally, this is starting to come together and making more sense. This could probably do with a reread, but I don’t know if I can be bothered with that. I think it’s mainly me and my headspace.

This prose is… something else. Leech was not like this.

Very decadent, sort of like Ambergris, but the prose is ever so slightly off. I loved Leech by this author, so I’m sticking with it.

There’s nothing at all wrong with this book, in my opinion. I am just having the hardest time reading a rather hefty physical book with my small and very active baby.

I am hooked.
