I’m not sure how I made it this far, but this storyline could have been good with some actual depth behind the writing. Instead, it’s a creepy, over-written, sexually-charged mess. Yikes. 😬

I’m not sure how much longer I’ll continue on, but this is why I don’t willingly do “DARK” reads. Because, if this is dark, it’s laughable - at best. 🙄

So far she’s mentioned Tillamook as Millatook and Estacada. I feel like she might know Oregon really well. 🤣🤣🤣

Feels very….contrived right now, but it’s interesting.

What I don’t get is how I’m missing whole parts of conversations and actions. When did she get up so the other lady could slide in? Mid-conversation, even. When did Holland go to the dance floor while you’re stuck talking to “Lewis” at the table. I’m so baffled right now. The flow is good, but somewhat awkward in that aspect.

Welp…the skimming has already started. 😔🫣 I’m sad. This had so much promise and it’s just not working out so well for me.

Good introductions but the drama was already spelled out, so I don’t know how long it’ll take to clear up, but I’m hoping it’s not drawn out. 🫰🏻🫰🏻

Someone please tell me we get to the mystery soon…it’s a lot of just sex, with a lack of movement with the plot right now. I really want to love this as much as Pen Pal. 😭

I’m really enjoying this one and it’s my first by this author.

Very repetitive, but cute story so far. A bit cliche, a little cheesy…but it’s a fun read.

This heroine is a tool. A complete fckng tool. I’m not sure how many more eye-rolls I can take on before I quit but she is stubborn, and NOT the good kind of stubborn. She’s an idiot. 🙄

I desperately needed this to be a good book. It is anything but for a multitude of reasons. I am so bummed. I’m going to try to push on for a few more chapters. Fingers crossed.

I’m not too sure this is going anywhere.... it’s super slow. But, where is the promised angst? There is nothing so far. 😩 I was hoping for some signature KS Angst and this one is not delivering so far. Fingers crossed it picks up. 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

I read through chapter 6 and then flipped the pages until I opened up on chapter 33. I wanted to just get it over with. I feel terrible, but I just couldn’t do it. 😔

Thanks for lying about the trope in this book. This isn’t a bully romance at all. It’s mean girls in high school picking on a girl. The guy she likes isn’t even a part of that storyline - he’s not the bully. It’s ridiculous. 🤬🙄 All it’s doing is pissing me off.

”Mom and Dad were both working late, and I didn’t even attempt to do any homework when I got home. I dumped my bag at the foot of my bed and immediately reached for my makeup case. I needed to clear my head, calm my racing heart, get lost in the precision and focus required to execute a full face of makeup.”

The overuse of adjectives for “flair” is bordering on ridiculous.

Can she be any more weak? I hope hope HOPE this isn’t a mean girl bully book. I hate those, but I hate the mean girl bullies in this story so far - they are a huge turn off for me. I like Turner, but Mena is weak. 🙄

I need to put this down. While the way Sylvain Reynard writes is poetic and beautiful, I can't understand why this is going down the path it is right now and I'm not sure it adds more to the storyline when it was already perfection when it finished 6 years ago. I will come back to it, but right now - it's too slow for me and some of Julia's actions aren't lining up with her words or her supposed way of thinking.
