Don’t let it stop you, FBC!!! I am super picky and I’m but ONE opinion. I’m obviously not in the majority. I’m not sure how long you’ve been following me (I’m so sorry - that sounds rude but not meant to be) - but you might know better why this isn’t working if it’s been for a little bit. BUT, maybe this will work for you. I’ve loved one of her books I read, but have struggled with more than a few since. This book had promise for me but it’s falling very short….I’m hoping to have fresh eyes on it in the morning. But please don’t let it stop you. It might tick all your checkboxes. 😔♥️

Oh goodness, ok. THANK YOU. 🤗 I think knowing you’ve followed me for a bit, you know what I mostly complain about in a book.

And KU would be perfect for this. I just had a terrible time matching up the actions and words to the emotions I was supposed to be feeling with this book. I just couldn’t get behind the writing. The story could have been phenomenal, but the writing threw me out of it which upset me more than anything. It should have been this emotional upheaval, but I didn’t feel any of it. I put it down and walked away more than anything. I was buddy reading with another blogger and she DNF’d as well, and we had the same issues. We aren’t technically “allowed” to post our review for a week…but I’ll always discuss it because I won’t hide behind my feelings. I started blogging to discuss, not hide and fluff. ♥️

And as for waiting a week....you know how I feel about that. 🙄

I have been in this situation before as well. Just because others loved it does not always mean it will be the same for you. It is important to be honest about the feelings that the book evoked, what worked and did not. I read reviews to prevent myself from wasting my time on a book when my time is so limited. I have a few ARC's I need to get through before I can begin this book. I will be in touch once I do:)
