While I really do understand the themes and nuances of this, something about it just really didn’t resonate with me. I felt quite bored through large chunks. This feels like a book I would’ve absolutely loved had I studied it for English Lit class as a teenager.

DNF. I tried, I really did. I don’t ever give up on books no matter how much might hate them, but this one is genuinely painful to get through. It’s zapping the life out of me.

I get it. I get why it’s written the way it is. I get the story and style. I normally don’t mind stream-of-consciousness, but this is to the next level. I’ve never read a more dull, dense, rambling novel. Life’s too short.
